The second Port Macquarie Craft Expo has been hailed as another great success, leading to the volunteer organisers from the Zonta Club and the Port Macquarie Rotary Club to commit to the event again in 2012. Crowds over the 3 day event agreed it was a well run event with some high quality unique art and craft on show.
The addition of entertainment added to the tone of the event with the Port Macquarie Sing Australia Choir and the Camden Haven Concert Band increasing the enjoyment of the crowd. The Busking Competition was a novel event that encouraged both young and old and was a real crowd pleaser.
Winners of the 2MC Craft Expo Busking Competition
2MC Tracey Morgan was on hand to present the winners cheques to the fabulous local talent on show.
The adult category winner taking out the $500 first prize was Luke Evans singing with acoustic guitar. Judges also gave special mention to Sam Holmes singing with electric piano and harmonica.
Student category winners taking out the $250 first prize were Jess and the Red Rockets Band with Jess Flanagan on vocals supported by Clay Teiffel and Jake Teiffel on guitar and drums.
A $50 encouragement award went to Brady Pinkstone on instrumental guitar and William Roberts got a special mention by the judges for his singing and guitar.
Thanks to all the competitors for their performances and to Sam Holmes for providing an enjoyable song and piano performance again on Sunday.
